One of the most dreaded things about moving is changing over a driver’s license which means a trip to the bastion of government ineptness, the DMV. Naturally, the website isn’t completely informative, so here is what you may want to know like me:

• Coming from out of state, it costs $36.75 to get a new license and you can use a credit card to pay.
• You will need to pass a vision test but not a driving test if you have your old license
• You will need to surrender your old license and have with you a passport, birth certificate, or Social Security Card
• You will need a lot of hand sanitizer when you leave.
